Pål Brekke to sign new book "Our Explosive Sun"

Session 1 AstroFest speaker Pål Brekke will be signing his new book Our Explosive Sun upstairs on the Springer stand on Friday (time tbd - check back here for announcements!)

Subtitled A Visual Feast of Our Source of Light and Life, the book provides a detailed introduction to the dynamics of the Sun and how it affects Earth, both scientifically and culturally. The book examines the many ways that the Sun impacts our world, including the beautiful northern and southern lights – the subject of Pål's talk – and how greatly the Sun affects our technology-based society. The book includes over 200 colour illustrations and photos of our Sun, some of which have never been published before.

.

The 60mm/F16 Aureus has an optical tube fashioned from solid brass, with an exceptional Japanese 60mm doublet objective of the finest optical quality at its' heart. The internally flocked instrument is complemented by a matching 8x40 finder, 1.25" Crayford focuser and hand turned counter-cell housing the collimatable objective. This is an heirloom quality instrument with a price similar to that of some premium eyepieces.

A limited number of Skylight Aureus refractor ota's will be available at a special show discount for the Astrofest weekend only. If you can break from the herd and think outside of mainstream marketing, you can own a one of a kind Skylight Refractor. Mounting options will be available, and I will be happy to explain the options in person.

See you upstairs on Stand 44!
